About Dr. Nicole Keedy

About the Practice

Resilient Mind Psychology was established in 2025 by Dr. Nicole Keedy, Licensed Psychologist, to offer goal-oriented therapy and other specialized services. The name reflects a focus on the resilience that exists within each of us. Using research-based methods, you can learn to navigate the emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that accompany life’s inevitable challenges.

Resilient Mind Psychology welcomes general adult therapy clients and offers much-needed mental healthcare access for first responders (including police officers, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, emergency communications dispatchers, and corrections officers) and their significant others.

Why choose Dr. Keedy?

(in her own words)

If you keep hearing messages – from yourself or others – to “stop worrying,” “be more present,” “stop overreacting,” or “focus on the positive” but you continue to feel overwhelmed, anxious, worried, or irritable, I am here to help. During my time as a therapist, many clients have shared components of our work together that felt particularly helpful and, in some cases, their first successful therapy. I have incorporated years of helpful feedback into my approach.

My doctoral training in Counseling Psychology taught me the importance of linking practice with science. I am a lifelong learner and I continually seek training with experts in the field of psychology to stay up-to-date and to offer best practices in our work together.

I have learned that my calling is working with anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD/trauma symptoms, adjustment to life-altering diagnoses, and other stressors that can make your brain over-protective and over-reactive. You can learn to understand these reactions and respond more effectively. Treating these struggles is where my PhD, over 15 years of experience as a licensed psychologist, and advanced training in these areas offer an advantage in addressing your needs. Your symptoms are treatable, and my goal-directed therapy process can help.

The most effective, research-based therapy approaches all contain several core components:

  • Increasing awareness of your thoughts and emotions
  • Feeling, expressing, and releasing distressing emotions
  • Building strategies to manage stress effectively
  • Recognizing undesirable patterns in your behavior
  • Making intentional changes in your behavior patterns

I truly believe that if you are willing to engage in this approach, you can and will benefit. I will encourage you to reflect and provide feedback throughout the process to ensure that our time together addresses your unique needs. You do not need to keep suffering. Please reach out and start learning how to manage your struggles.
